  • 4 key concepts
  • Media Language, Media language means the way in which media texts communicate with people that use them, The arrangement of technical elements, camera, movement, editing, sound and images create meaning in products, denotation - is what we see and connotation - is what it means/ what it could mean
  • Institution, All of media is a business. They are not priamrily there to entertain us. They are there to make money, everything they produce is to make money, E.g: Netflix (Netflix originals), Snapchat (social media platforms with subscriptions), Epic Games (video games), Spotify(Music), Apple(technology and smartphones)
  • Audience, who the media is created for for example music some is made for some ages whereas some older people may dislike the music also with instagam where older ages would dislike this stuff as its for younger ages.
  • Representation, how people, places, ideas are presented in the media, for an example Donald Trump is seen as racist, rude and annoying. also there is the Paulers how they are rude, disrespectful, and break stuff
  • Narrative and Genre are also useful

Your definitions here are mostly clear, accurate and make good use of examples.

To improve include examples for media language and add more detail in explaining the examples you have selected - e.g. offer specific music when explaining audience. Also, moving forwards, please try to write in full sentences for class notes - it will help with your revision in future.

Please leave a comment below to explain your changes and make your improvements by the first day after half term - (29.10.18).
